Coffee: The NMR Method Officialized by the NF EN 17992 Standard

[03/12/2024]

The NF EN 17992 standard has just been published as part of the work conducted by the AFNOR / V03A committee. It focuses on the determination, using quantitative proton nuclear magnetic resonance (¹H-NMR), of the levels of 16-O-methylcafestol, 16-O-methylkahweol, and their derivatives in roasted coffee.

This now-official method aligns with the one we use in our NMR profiling test AA0T2, which includes additional parameters and a non-targeted approach.
